I am an Agile Coach.
My first Agile experience
…this was more than 10 years ago - before I had even heard of Agile. I was a new Business Analyst with a housing association. They needed to implement a new module, and with a previous, disasterous attempt in the forefront of their minds, were keen to avoid a repeat. It occurred to me to invite every end user to be part of the configuration, many accepted, and eventually they ‘nominated’ a single person to work with me and the small team for a couple of days every week until the module was launched. Ah, my first ever Product Owner / Truth!
I went on to accidentally stumble upon self-managing teams, brief daily meetings, and information radiators as a deployment manager…imagine how cool it was to find that this was all a recognised, legitimate way of working.
It was spreading and I wanted to be part of it.
